Perfect methods of controlling centipede insect

Centipedes have to be controlled correctly and promptly. To help you in your centipede weed control procedures, consider the following:

Non-Toxic Control of Centipedes

Natural centipede control involves non-chemical strategies like vacuuming frequently and tightly sealing and storing all food and garbage containers. Make sure all surfaces are clean and free of leftover food as well.

If there are any holes and cracks in the screens, foundations, and walls of your home, seal them. Make sure that there are no available entry points for these small insects. Aside from that, moisture can also attract centipedes, so repair all leaks.

Insecticides

The use of insecticides will not guarantee that centipedes will not invade again in the future. Also, the use of these products can pose a health risk. Always read what is stated on the label and follow the directions closely. Start your indoor centipede control with the most effective but least toxic insecticide you can find. Remember, you are introducing a strong chemical into your own home environment.

Common Products for Centipede Prevention

Common products used against centipedes include carbaryl, cyfluthrin, and acephate. Carbaryl is a widely used insecticide to control not just centipedes but 100 other insects as well. It is used in gardens, particularly on fruits trees, citrus plants, lawns, and forests.

Cyfluthrin is an active ingredient in most commercially available spray insecticides. It is used inside homes and other enclosed spaces, like restaurants and other food handling establishments. This one kills ants, spiders, and roaches as well.

Acephate is another insecticide for general use. It is applied on crops globally and has a residual effect for about 10 to 15 days maximum.

Diazinon and chlorpyrifos are also used but are classified as Restricted Use Pesticide. These substances can be highly toxic to certain plants and animals and are intended for professional use only.

These products can contain active ingredients that can cause allergies and infect ions in humans and pets. If many of these substances are used incorrectly, they will also harm your plants. Read and follow the instructions on the label at all times.

Most people tend to over-react when they spot insects of any kind in their homes or gardens. While none of us want to live with these "house guests" in great number, a centipede in your house is not nearly as troublesome as spotting a cockroach. Where there's one roach there are usually 100 more. Still, if you cannot tolerate any critters, then centipede weed control and centipede insect control will be high on your list of priorities inside and outside your home. With the proper precautions, you should be able to control or eliminate the presence of these potential pests from both areas.
