The best german cockroach control methods

The following are some of the best cockroach control methods:

Baiting Method

For optimum German cockroach control, the baiting method and the clean out method are used. The baiting method is the least toxic way to eliminate cockroaches. The bait
consists of a substance toxic to cockroaches which is intentionally mixed with food. Since roaches will eat anything, including their own dead, this is an effective method since the roach returns to the nest, dies, is consumed by its fellows and in turn kills them. There are a variety of baits available. Most are encased in flat plastic disks with holes the roach can access but children and pets cannot.

The Clean Out Method

The clean out method is also called the extermination method. This technique is not only applicable to roaches but will wipe out all other pests inside or outside the house. This method is advised in places where cockroach infestation is total and pesticides or insecticides are not effective anymore.

There are two clean out procedures that are widely used -- the crack and crevice work procedure and the use of residual pesticides. Professional dusts or aerosols are injected into tiny areas of the house with the aim of targeting the pests' hiding places. Residual pesti cides can be sprayed over the entire home as a broad method of targeting the roaches. This is the method most often used in restaurants and other food establishments.

The control of large roaches is slightly different. Inside spraying, outside spraying, and dusting are performed. Spraying is conducted mostly in areas where water is present. That includes the dishwasher, air conditioner, refrigerator, freezer, laundry room, garage, and plumbing.

Outside spraying is similar to residual spraying. Here, pesticide is spewed all around the house and on the house's foundation. Insecticides are applied over the tool sheds, rain gutters, and hollow trees. Sewer roach control should be given highly priority.

Dusting

Dusting is a different method. Dusting is used in areas where insects are most likely to be. Exercise caution with dust pesticides. Both you and your pets may be allergic to the substance.

Read the label and applicable precautions thoroughly before using any pest control product. People with respiratory ailments should be especially careful with these substances. If you hire a professional exterminator, be prepared to leave your home and to r emove your pets from the premises for a period of several hours. Be sure to discuss what residue may be left in your home and what hazards it presents.

These are hard cockroach facts. You can combat all types of cockroaches through any combination of these methods. They are all pests and you certainly don't want them in your home.
